Matthew has been photographing architecture and interior design in the western United States for the past 20 years. Drawing his earliest influences from the long history of landscape photographers native to the region, he continues to view photography through a fine arts lens. Matthew’s work has appeared in a wide range of publications, including The New York Times, Dwell, Architectural Digest, Interior Design, Elle Decor, Vogue, and Architectural Record.

Matthew photographed the recently released book West Coast Modern. In additon, he photographed Model Making authored by his wife, Megan Werner. Matthew also shot the best selling book Concrete Countertops and the follow-up Concrete at Home as well as contributing to a host of other design books.

Matthew’s personal work focuses on various subjects from architectural abstractions to a 10 year project of portraiture and reportage in Haiti.
